I'm with Garth on this one: gender makes no difference to me, I've had good and bad men and women bosses. As a woman boss I found men easier to manage though ironically! Its often easier to be straight with blokes. Maybe that's why some people prefer male bosses too. At the end of the day what I want is someone who is creative, solution focused and open to ideas. And someone who does what they damn well said they would.

Most of the men i talk to say they'd rather have a male boss. Most women likewise. I wonder if that's true in the wider population? And why might it be so. In drinks round the bar, some women say I'd rather have a man as a boss because "you can get round him easier". Few men like to be bossed around by a female. It makes them feel a failure. Me personally? I'm more comfortable in the company of creative, risk takers who are playful, good at relationships and know what they're doing. If that's a woman - even better.

I have a bit of a problem with my 'DNA profile' - it seems to think I'm a 'leader' (as if!). I wanted something a bit fluffier - maybe I'll re-do it as someone else?

Very interesting tool though, thanks for the link!

Reminds me of the Serenity Prayer: knowing when to hold fire and accept what you've got, when to act with courage, and most importantly the wit to know the difference. Takes skill in spades.

I would like to share my personal experience of Trevor. When I first met him, I was immediately comfortable and engaged to naturally be as I am, and all that I am. Simple as that.

Hi Trevor and others that gather here. I'm really enjoying your writing. Fluent and personal and open. Engaging. I'm very involved in this question of authenticity and wonder what others think it means? Bestest - Libby www.authenticblogging.com
